More and more people are now searching far and wide to ensure they get the right balance - and what i mean by this is, the balance of; quality of product and price. When buying PVC conservatories, doors and windows people like to shop the market and find something within their budget. There is no shame in that and most of the time you will find the right deal. I say most of the time, because there are things you have to consider. It is important to be wise in your choice, because the product you are going to buy is now something that should be durable and long-lasting. It is a good idea to find out more about the company you want to buy from, are they established etc? Another thing to consider is the quality of product they are offering, ask them about the product, gain as much information as possible to ensure you are buying a quality product. We often get customers asking all sorts of questions, such as - the energy rated windows we offer, the profile we use and even minor things such as different types of hinges etc, but we are always more then happy to answer these questions as we know the importance of them. We have a lot of literature in the showroom that customers can take away and see the kind of product we offer, we guarantee a quality product.
We are now constantly adapting to customers needs, as a company (http://www.u-fit.co.uk/) we have been going for over 15 years and in this time things have changed a lot! We now offer various services to ensure the customer is always getting exactly what they want;
At U-fit (Birmingham conservatories), we offer a DIY package aswell as a fitted package. We get a lot of customers that want to save money and fit the products themselves, and we are more then happy to provide this! We offer fixing kits, instruction manuals and everything you need to do it yourself. Some customers see it as a project, we get many calls from customers who have bought their product supply only and need a bit of help, and we are more then happy to provide it. For the customers that decide to use our fitted package, our fitters are top professionals that have vast experience - we would not use anyone we don't trust! As you can see from our testimonials, we have consistantly high standards that we make sure is maintained.
Do not hesitate to contact us with any queries/questions, as mentioned above - we will always help.

Come October 1st windows under the BFRC scheme will have to comply with the new regulations of a C+ energy rating. The energy rating itself works on a A-G scale, A rated windows being the most efficient.
Taken from the BFRC (British Fenestration Ratings Council), they state that energy efficient windows are;
They are windows that help to contain and conserve heat within the home keeping out wind and rain, resisting condensation and yet allowing natural "free" energy - the warmth of the sun - to heat the home. They can be made using any frame material - aliminium, PVC-U, steel or timber or even a combination of materials.
More and more people are now choosing to install new windows based on the information above and due to the fact you save money on heating bills in the long run, aswell as the whole process being entirely enviromentally friendly. Another thing to note is - not every company out there selling windows will be in compliance, so if you do decide to buy energy efficient windows make sure you find out from the supplier all the information you need to, for example wether they are within the BFRC rating.
Rest assured, if you decide to buy the windows with us at U-fit (http://www.u-fit.co.uk), we provide up to a A rated window, and can provide you with any help or queries you have regarding the energy windows.

Over the recent weeks on some of the call outs we have done, speaking to customers it seems some company's have been offering to fully install a conservatory within a week. I find this amazing, because it simply isn't possible. Obviously these companys are using words such as these to entise the customer into buying with them, but ultimately it will be the customer that is let down and annoyed.
When a customer buys a conservatory with us, we usually tell them a 3-4 week period of installation, we then explain the process to them - which goes something like this;
Week 1 - Brickwork and fully insulated base.
Week 2 - 3-4 days to to put the frames and roof up, including the glazing.
Week 3/4 - We then use the final 2 weeks to ensure plastering, electrics, tiles/floors are complete. Plus any additional extra's such as blinds etc. This also includes the fitters coming back out to ensure everything is up to scratch and do a thorough clean down.
We like to be honest with the customer throughout, obviously the time period varies due to the size of the conservatory in question and the additional extras.
So before you do decide to purchase a conservatory, make sure you gain all the appropriate information you need! You can always call us with any questions and we will do our best to help you out.

Due to popular demand during June/July we are extending the 'free glass roof upgrade' on any fitted conservatory into August. As mentioned before in the blog, a free glass roof can lead to a saving of up to £600 or more!
For example Mr Bennett from Solihull recently chose an Edwardian style conservatory to have fitted by us, we followed up with our offer and he decided to pay a small fee to upgrade the glass roof to Pilkington active blue.
There are a lot of advantages to having a glass roof instead of a polycarbonate as i spoke about previously in the blog. Such as noise reduction and more light into the conservatory.
This offer applies to all styles of conservatories which you can check out on the 'Conservatory Styles' page to the left.
Some customers decide to build there own conservatory (supply only) as a DIY project or to save on cost, we will always give you a free quote, even if the conservatory is supply only. We can send out surveyors who will be able to help with any queries regarding you conservatory, such as base plans etc.

Again we are offering a fantastic deal to any customer who buys a fitted conservatory from us within the months of June/July. A free glass roof upgrade which leads to a saving of £600 or more! This is compared to our standard roof's which would normally be a polycarbonate design.
When buying a conservatory a lot of customers opt for a glass roof due to some big advantages. When it rains heavy the noise on a glass roof is minimal compared to a standard polycarbonate roof. Another great advantage of a glass roof is the amount of light it let's into the conservatory which is fantastic during the summer! Especially when there is longer hours of light in the evening... a conservatory is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
If you would like more information about this offer then don't hesitate to give us a call at the Marston Green showroom in Birmingham on 0121 779-7801 or just drop in and we will always be willing to help with any queries!

I was talking with a friend in the conservatory industry recently and we got round to talking about fitted conservatory prices.We both agreed that yes you can fit a conservatory for £4999 but its very rare that you'd be able to.Let me explain a major part of the cost component of a fitted conservatory is in fact the brick walls and the base on which they sit.Now as you can imagine there are brick layers and brick layers and they can range massively in price.
I have seen first hand conservatory bases where the customer pays directly rather than the company who they've bought the conservatory from.They have been in some instances embarrassing to look at and later found to be of such poor quality the conservatory above was removed and re fitted not by the same firm either who has since gone bust.
At we-fit our goal is customer satisfaction and whilst yes we can fit a conservatory for £4999 (in fact we done one recently it was on to an existing conservatory base) its unlikely that the installation site would be that straight forward every house/garden is different to the next in some way.
We concluded that yes it can be technically done but the chances are rare, we advertise it on our vans but the offer is subject to terms and conditions the primary one being a site survey and size limitations.Unfortunately advertising conservatories these days seem to be based around price and I guess some one will soon be advertising fitted conservatories for £3999 but very small!.
My take on it is your only buying a conservatory once so take some time and look at all the various options its far better to get value for money and a conservatory that's made to a specification that suits you and your lifestyle rather than one that's built to a strict price.

our quotations department in Coventry did a quote for a black upvc conservatory quote to be fitted in Birmingham.I had a look at the 3d conservatory plan and it looked stunning.The quote also included pilkingtons self cleaning glass in the roof in Activ neutral.We manufacture the synseal artisan range of coloured profiles and stock both black on white and cream on white profiles.
The actual black finish can be applied to the outside face with the inside face in white or on both inside and outside faces.The conservatory roof also has the same foil applied so it makes a perfect match.We do a large range of coloured foils for conservatories which you can see on our website or pop along to our showroom to see the range 32 Station road,Marston Green,Birmingham B37 7AU we are open 7 days a week

until April 15th 2010 we are offering you a free glass roof upgrade from our polycarbonate roof.The glass roof upgrade is to 24mm clear tough glass normally an extra cost of £500 on the average sized conservatory.The big advantage is that a clear glass roof will let a lot more light in and give great views both in the day and on moon light nights.
Another important advantage with a glass conservatory roof is that during heavy rain the roof is virtually whisper quiet compared to standard polycarbonate conservatory roofs.One aspect to consider is that a clear glass conservatory will get warmer(as it lets in more light) that's great in winter but in summer an automatic roof vent would be an ideal addition to vent away hot air.
We think if you want an all round conservatory our free glass upgrade is the way to go in addition why not upgrade to pilkingtons active self cleaning glass ?
call the showroom or visit us to see the full range of glass roof options on show.
note this special offer is only available to Birmingham we-fit customers!
